Monadnock Partners with Hazen Paper to Bring Brands to Life
Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. (MPM), a family-owned manufacturer that delivers high-performance specialty papers for the technical, packaging and printing markets, today announced enhancements to its Envi Card Stock, a renewable wood-fiber replacement for plastic gift and loyalty cards.
In collaboration with Hazen Paper Company, the design of the Envi Card, which already has all of the functional criteria of plastic gift cards including accepting magnetic stripes, signature panels and embossing, is now available with unique eye-catching holographic elements. Hazen Paper’s patented film-free transfer metallized Envirofoil® is a perfect pairing with Monadnock’s Envi Card stock creating amazing possibilities for gift cards and carriers.
“Many top brands around the world already leverage Monadnock’s Envi to offer gift cards that are both sustainable and customized to their look and feel,” said John Hazen, President, Hazen Paper. “Incorporating our custom hologram capabilities, we can deliver an even more differentiated brand experience at gift card malls.”
Customers are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious, so the ability for brands to offer gift cards made of paper rather than plastic holds enormous appeal. Roughly three billion gift cards are sold each year, 99 percent of which are currently made of non-renewable PVC. Monadnock and Hazen are offering a renewable, fiber-based alternative – Envi Card with Envirofoil – that is recyclable in the mixed paper bin.
“Sustainability is ingrained in our everyday business practices and is represented in our high-quality paper solutions, which offer a renewable and recyclable alternative to plastic,” said Richard Verney, Chairman and CEO of Monadnock. “This enhancement will allow the look and feel of brands to come alive more than ever before and in a more sustainable way.”
