The Manufacturing Operator is a position reporting to the department supervisor. This position will serve a crucial role in manufacturing a quality product to our customers. A Manufacturing Operator will work closely with other team members in maximizing overall production efforts in a team environment.

We have positions that will work in various positions throughout our operation. We have 12 hour shift opportunities (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) that have every weekend off. Overtime is readily available once trained.

All of our shifts are rotating so all employees have an equal opportunity to work days and nights.

Production/Process Engineer Paper Machines and Coater (Complete the application below.)

DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing

LOCATION: Bennington, NH

I. Position in the Organization

A. Reports to: Director of Operations

B. Directly supervises: None

C. Indirectly supervises: Coater & Paper Machine Supervisors

II. Major Responsibilities

A. Improve key performance indicators (KPIs).

  1. Drive daily operational problem-solving efforts.
  2. Lead cost-reduction and material substitution initiatives.
  3. Manage colorant and associated control systems.
  4. Support and engage in mill safety initiatives.

III. Specific Responsibilities

  1. Optimize performance of paper machine and coater operations.
  2. Deliver analytical support to resolve manufacturing issues.
  3. Evaluate grade performance, identify capability gaps, and lead targeted improvement efforts.
  4. Support product development and lead quality improvement initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with process control to optimize chemical applications and ensure proper operation and maintenance of chemical skids in paper machine operations.
  6. Conduct and participate in mill trials.
  7. Collaborate with mill personnel to assess manufacturing capabilities for product scale-up and commercialization
  8. Ensure all safety procedures are understood, followed, and updated as needed.
  9. Recommend and implement necessary updates to ISO work instructions.
  10. Evaluate product grades for specification capability gaps and partner with technical team to address them.
  11. Color
    1. New Color implementation. Colorant addition schemes and integration into the control system.
    2. Oversee trial execution and manage scale-up activities for new product grades.
    3. Color control- Lab Drive performance improvements in Paper Tester operations.
    4. Color Systems Maintain and improve ABB control systems and dye-room addition systems.
  12. Crosstrain to fill in for Process Contral and Tour Boss roles.

IV. Relationships

A. Internal: Hourly, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Technical personnel.

B. External: Customers, Material Suppliers, and Equipment Suppliers.

II. Experience

Minimum of one Co-Op or two internship experiences in the pulp and paper industry.
