Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. continues to operate without disruption despite the COVID-19 outbreak. While there continue to be no COVID-19 cases within our on-site work force, we do have one external sales person who has tested positive and is self-quarantined at home. Additionally, there are two external sales people who have self-quarantined due to potential exposure.

We have not experienced any difficulty in sourcing the materials we need to run the business. We remain vigilant and plan for potential impacts to our business by having a multi-level response plan. We are taking the following precautionary measures:

  • Our Safety and Health Department is monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local and national public health agencies ’ communications daily to keep our response up to date with their current recommendations.
  • We have educated all employees in the recommended infection prevention practices and to recognize the signs and symptoms of the illness.
  • Hand sanitizer and surface disinfection products are present throughout the workplace.
  • An internal memo has instructed all employees to stay home and seek medical attention if they develop signs or symptoms that could be COVID-19.
  • We have restricted non-essential visitors from the facility and are screening essential service providers to ensure that they have not been in a high risk region in the past 3 weeks.
  • We are discontinuing all public use of our conference rooms and mill tours until further notice.
  • We have limited business related travel and eliminated travel to areas with known outbreaks.
  • We have reduced facility access to long distance transportation personnel and provided portable facilities for their use.

To further protect our employees, businesses and communities, we have identified several employees at Monadnock Paper Mills and Monadnock Non-Wovens who will begin working remotely on Monday, March 23 or as soon thereafter as feasible. This will contribute to social distancing and help prevent community spread and help prevent overburdening our healthcare system. Your cooperation in making this work will go a long way to help protect yourself and assure we can continue to operate our businesses.

Our Management Leadership Team is preparing contingencies to address any possible future impact on our operations by:

  • Planning how to respond to employee exposure to or infection by COVID-19.
  • Communicating with our supply chain and transportation partners to quickly recognize any potential interruption in our business.
  • Communicating with customers if and when it is determined there may be an interruption in our business.
  • Planning for site security, protection of assets, stake holder communication, and timely start up should any curtailment in our operations become necessary.
