Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. received the John A.S. McGlennon Environmental-Energy Award for Corporate Leadership on May 21, 2014 at the Environmental Business Council (EBC) of New England’s 24th Annual Meeting in Boston. This award is presented to a public or private corporation in recognition of their outstanding corporate environmental leadership and contribution to the quality of the environment in New England.

“Our environmental stewardship goes beyond our products into our day-to-day business practices and is also demonstrated in our commitment to the local community,” said Richard Verney, chairman and chief executive officer, Monadnock Paper Mills. “We are honored the Environmental Business Council of New England has recognized us as an organization committed to proactively taking responsibility for its environmental impact.”

Each year, the EBC recognizes companies, organizations and individuals for outstanding environmental and energy accomplishments in the promotion of a sustainable, clean environment through the EBEE Awards Celebration. The EBEE Awards are presented each year at the EBC’s Annual Awards Celebration. These awards were established by the EBC to encourage companies, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and environmental professionals to serve as models for others to emulate and, in doing so, further the mission and objectives of the EBC.
